Exquisite Nkuku Natural lambswool throw in hand woven cable knit, is a must-have for colder climates and a prized heirloom gift. Generously sized at approximately 35 x 78 inches, this luxurious throw blanket is large enough to cover a double bed. Produced in India under strict guidelines of the World Fair Trade Organization, by Nkuku. This beautiful blanket contains 80% Lambswool, 20% Recycled Nylon to hold shape.
* Hand loomed with sustainable, 100% natural lambswool
* No dyes or added chemicals
Care: Have your lambswool blanket dry cleaned by a certified eco-friendly cleaner with no harsh chemicals. Do not machine wash. Spot clean your lambswool blanket using a small amount of natural cleaner such as vinegar or lemon juice, but test a tiny corner first.
Removing Difficult Stains from Lambswool:
Spot-wash with a natural stain remover like vinegar or lemon juice, but test on a small area to make sure the dyes will not change color. Below is a list of common stains and what you can use to try to remove them:
* Ink: Have your eco-friendly dry cleaner professionally remove the stain
* Blood: Blot with common starch paste and rinse from back with soapy water.
* Lipstick: Rub white bread over area with a firm motion.
* Chocolate: Sponge with soapy cold water.
* Coffee or Tea: Sponge with glycerin. If none available, use warm water.
* Mud: Once dry, brush and sponge from back with soapy cold water.
* Red Wine: Immerse stained section in cold water immediately, then air dry. Do NOT wring or twist.
In order to dry a lambswool blanket, lay it flat on a bed over a freshly cleaned sheet, and gently tease it to the correct size and shape before drying. Leave the blanket to air dry naturally.
Nkuku is socially responsible, and a member of the World Fair Trade Organization:
"Organizations which produce Fair Trade products maximize the use of raw materials from sustainably managed sources in their ranges, buying locally when possible. They use production technologies that seek to reduce energy consumption and where possible use renewable energy technologies that minimize greenhouse gas emissions. They seek to minimize the impact of their waste stream on the environment. Fair Trade agricultural commodity producers minimize their environmental impacts, by using organic or low pesticide use production methods wherever possible.
Buyers and importers of Fair Trade products give priority to buying products made from raw materials that originate from sustainably managed sources, and have the least overall impact on the environment.
All organizations use recycled or easily biodegradable materials for packing to the extent possible, and goods are dispatched by sea wherever possible."
