Linen is made from flax, a very hearty plant that grows with little to no need of fertilizers and pesticides, making it naturally organic. Care: Coyuchi linens are also machine washable, in warm water with non-phosphate detergents. Do not bleach.

ORGANIC WOOL

Canadian sheep graze freely on open fields for much of the year. Coyuchi has the wool washed and woven in Canada as well. Care: Coyuchi recommends machine washing on a gentle or low spin delicate cycle. Use mild liquid detergent, do not bleach, to not wring or twist. Wool blankets should be air-dried. Do not machine dry, since heat can damage wool fibers. Store wool blankets in a tightly-sealed bin or heavy plastic bag to protect against pests. Add cedar chips for extra protection.

CASHMERE (natural)

Cashmere is expensive because the wool comes from goats that are still herded and shorn by nomadic farmers in the mountainous high plains of Mongolia. Care: Coyuchi recommends hand washing in cool water, using a mild liquid detergent. Air dry flat out of direct sunlight; do NOT tumble dry. Use a warm iron if needed. Do not bleach. Do not wring or twist.

DYES
Dyeing is done with fiber-reactive, low-impact dyes that require less water, heat, energy and dye material than other cotton dyes. The bonding effect is greater with this type of dye and, therefore, more environmentally friendly. These dyes contain no known heavy metals or toxins, and meet EU and GOTS standards for environmental safety. NOTE: Fiber-reactive dyes are still petrochemical based. Natural undyed or whitened fabrics will be the best choice for maximum purity.

Whitening is achieved with pure, natural hydrogen peroxide.
